Full Job Description for Mental Health Counselors
Platteville Family Resource Center (PFRC), located in Platteville, Wisconsin, is seeking a licensed masters level therapist to join our team serving the Tristate area of Wisconsin, Iowa, and Illinois.
Role High-Level Description:
The Platteville Family Resource Center, Inc. (PFRC) has a proud 30-year tradition of providing caring, competent, ethical, and compassionate care to children, adolescents, and adults who struggle with mental illness. PFRC has four outpatient locations in Southwest Wisconsin and counselors in three school districts. We are proud to have a diverse and highly skilled group of clinicians including Psychologists, Social Workers, and Licensed Professional Counselors. We are looking for counselors who have a healthy work ethic who are compassionate, empathetic, and passionate about helping patients with their mental health challenges, and who can work effectively in teams.
Responsibilities Include:
-Assessment and diagnosis of psychological issues.
-Development and monitoring of treatment plans.
-Timely completion of documentation in accordance with clinical standards.
-Consultation with colleagues and ongoing practice management as necessary.
-Participation in scheduled staff meetings for business and practice issues, and professional case consultation.
-Provision of psychotherapy services is in-person or via Telehealth.

-Provide therapeutic services in an ethical fashion based on current standards of care, within the scope of one’s competence.
-Maintain a cordial, respectful, and professional client environment.
-Maintain a cooperative, supportive, and professional work environment.
-Respond to telephone calls and other correspondences promptly, professionally, and completely.
-Follow clinic and professional policies, procedures, and guidelines.
-Maintain client and colleague confidentiality.
-Represent PFRC as a pro-social provider of psychotherapy services throughout the community.
Work Schedule:
-Schedule is determined by individual practitioners in consultation with management.
-Minimum of two days per week is required and practitioners may work up to five days per week, Monday through Saturday.
Compensation:
-Compensation is based on number of clients seen, receipts from insurance, receipts from clients, and a very competitive sliding fee scale.
-Sliding fee scale includes expenses for client referrals, billing, insurance processing, provision of individual private offices, Telehealth services, internet, office supplies, and advertising.
-Typical annual full-time take home salary after expense fee deductions ranges from $70,000 to
$90,000.

Qualifications:
-Education: Master’s Degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, or related field.
-Experience: Minimum of one year of similar or related experience.
-Interpersonal Skills: The ability to relate to and empathize with clients’ circumstances in a non-judgmental way is of the utmost importance. To serve clients, we must value them and understand their perspectives in order to build trust and help them to improve their lives and meet their goals. This requires a significant level of diplomacy, maturity, and tact. Cooperation with colleagues and external providers of services is an important part of the job.
-Other Skills: Licensure as a mental health counselor or social worker is required.
